Book ConsultationYou must already be working in an Early Years setting. Your employer contacts us and completes a few forms, then we send a self-registration link so you can add your details to our e-portfolio, followed by an onboarding meeting to confirm everything is correct.
Our Early Years apprenticeships can be started at any time.
You'll need to be working in an Early Years setting to meet work experience requirements for ages 0–5, a letter from your employer confirming placement hours, to be 16 or over, and an enhanced DBS check. A minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy (or equivalent) is recommended.
The Level 2 Early Years Practitioner is likely a better starting point, offering hands-on experience, structured training, and a nationally recognised qualification with mentorship along the way.
This qualification counts in ratio at Level 3, enabling roles such as Nursery Teacher, Room Leader or Manager. Graduates have gone on to become Nursery Owners, Nursery Managers, Deputy Managers, Room Leaders and Early Years Educators.
You'll have the opportunity to study Functional Skills English and Maths alongside the course. English is recommended since it's counted in EYFS staff:child ratios; Maths is not an EYFS requirement.
The standard time for the L3 Early Years Educator is 8–12 months.
The course runs alongside your everyday job, with some outside learning expected in your personal time, as this is an L3 equivalent to an A-level.
