Montessori Accreditation with District One is designed for nurseries that follow or aspire to follow authentic Montessori principles. It recognises settings that align with Montessori values while meeting EYFS standards.
You should have Montessori-trained staff (or staff working towards training), Montessori materials in use, and a commitment to reflective practice. You’ll also need to complete our self-assessment toolkit.
From toolkit submission to final report, the process typically takes between 12–18 weeks, depending on your readiness and scheduling availability for the assessor visit.
Accreditation lasts for 3 years. During this period, settings are expected to continue their commitment to Montessori principles and staff development.
Our assessor will observe practice, review documentation, and speak with team members. It’s a collaborative, supportive process focused on celebrating strengths and identifying areas for growth, we’re not trying to catch you out.
Yes. If your setting doesn’t meet all requirements initially, we provide a report with recommendations and support you through the steps needed to reach accreditation.
